All along, the extensive (rough) management and operation of leather business has dragged down the development of the whole industry. Leather industry has been known by some experts as an industry of high energy consumption and low productivity. It is believed that the extensive management is a key factor that makes our leather industry in a lower end among the global leather value chain. Extensive management leads to overlapse of workload or overstaff in some specific positions. We need extra staff to work harder and longer hours, and the cost is therefore higher. The profit margin is miserably low over the whole value chain.
